This seems to have shown up recently, perhaps after the 6. dec update? (http://rc.tf2center....elog#2014-12-06)

When auto-joining mumble with the button in a lobby, my mumble name is set to only the class I'm playing (without a colon). Mumble usually prompts for a new name, as the name consisting of just the class is normally taken.

This occurs when the name you have is already taken on the mumble server. Usually if you already have mumble open and click the join mumble button again.
