Description:
I'm sure we've all experienced those lobbies where you have a seemingly strong team but one troll player ends up ruining the fun for everyone else. By introducing a new class ban function for the mods, we could help reduce the number of these unfortunate lobbies. These bans would be issued following the same procedure as regular bans, (i.e. upon ban request).
Pros/Cons:
Class specific bans would encourage players to properly learn their competitive roles. For example, a pyro who completely refuses to spycheck the combo, could be given a 3-day pyro ban as a warning that the community does not appreciate his playstyle.
The downside to this could potentially be that not everyone agrees on who should receive a class ban. However this could be overcome by introducing a poll in the forum where players could vote on whether the player in question really does deserve a class ban.

That's going to stack up a lot of nasty bans...I don't think bans should be the right direction.
It's been fun, thanks for the ride.

I don't see how this would change behavior.

@Masternoob - This is how it would change behaviour:
"For example, a pyro who completely refuses to spycheck the combo, could be given a 3-day pyro ban as a warning that the community does not appreciate his playstyle."
The intention is that he would later come back and understand what to do as a pyro, and what not to do.

I still don't get how this would help the community get better at TF2. Take note this is the bridge between pubs and competitive. If we punish people for being bad, how is that a bridge? Also with your example, that would be trolling 3 day JL ban if they are purposely not spy checking.
It's been fun, thanks for the ride.

This is unrelated but for me, there is no longer any security thing under the "security check" field, which means that I could not even send a bug report to report this problem. Any help with undoing this would be appreciated - Thanks!

This is unrelated but for me,
So why post in this thread?

Because for me to report in the relevant section, I would have to do the security check, which isn't working for me.
