I started last night, the first game I was kicked because I hadn't realized I was in a tf2 game before. Today I played 10 games, all went just fine, without a single kick or ragequit.
Yet when I just went to check my profile, it said I have one ragequit.

One thing I can note though, the 11th game the whole enemy team ragequit. Ofcourse we won and I left at the end.

This is exactly what I meant, I asked others and they said a kick doesn't count as a ragequit. Even logically that wouldn't make sense.

In general, If you disconnect from a lobby before it ends, for any reason (time out, manual disconnect, reporting yourself or being reported by others, or even kicked by the server admin etc etc Any reason), you get a ragequit.

There's a discussion going on about changing the word "ragequit" to something else since lots of cases people get them when they don't literally quit in a rage

Yeah I got this problem too, I just got given a ragequit after leaving a lobby after it ended, I left when there were only 3 people left on each team and for some reason got a ragequit. It was after this lobby: 

 

I have never ragequitted before, only failed to join a lobby in time once when I went for a piss.
