People tend to join the team with higher hours and lobbies played if possible which leads to unbalanced teams. There is no reason why removing this would cause any problems. It would increase the amount of fair and even games. This would be optional to the creator of the lobby but on by default.

Advanced lobbies will have a shuffling (more or less random) with the ability to have a 'buddy'. We'll see how this turns out before potentially changing standard lobbies.

So yeah, once Advanced Lobbies roll out, we'll look into implementing shuffling for standard lobbies.

When creating a lobby - add new advanced option checkbox: Scramble lobby before starting.

 

Lobbies with this option enabled have a shuffle icon (just like mumble lobbies to) - so there is a visual cue for the users.

 

After everyone readies up and lobby type is scrambled:

TF2C switches at random blu and red scout, blu and red soldier, blu and red pyro, etc... Each one with 50/50 chance - so on average 4,5/9 classes are swapped around.

Lobby continues as usual with the new teams.

this has been suggested several times ... too good of an idea I think so they don't like it.
