At the moment the coffee-cup button allows you not to be there during readying up, which is already very useful. But there are some other times when you want to tell the website that you will not be there for a while, such as if you want to restart your pc or network hardware without losing your slot, or restarting tf2 during pregame (which takes longer than the timeout on my feeble pc). So would it be possible to expand the meaning of the coffee-cup button to mean "i'll be back in a few minutes, don't time me out" in these cases as well ?

Might be easy to abuse and used for trolling, as a protection against automatic and perhaps manual reporting.

This. It's only there in pregame so that if you have to, for example, go get a cup of coffee, you can pre-ready up for 5 minutes so you don't get kicked from the lobby.
