my suggestion is simple

option to ping the server to know what the ping will be before connecting to it

this is very simple: since ancient times there was ping in windows and linux

so this would work by doing ping to the server of the lobby 4 or 8 times before giving the average ms to the player who might then choose to join or not join the lobby

i hope its easy to understand, knowing the ping of the lobby could be very useful to players that suffer high ping on certain servers

its just not that trivial to ping player => server, rather than tf2c server => game server

But of course

the idea is having the player ping the game server through some kind of script.

pinging the game server from the TF2C website would be rather pointless !

sometimes theres bad routing issues in EU servers and abnormally high pings so this would be a good way to avoid a bad experience due to ping
