Demofile: Happened pregame so no prec

 

Reason for Report: My team's spy readied us up as our medic was joining mumble. Our team's demo asked for someone to unready so our med wouldn't be afk when we started. When I unreadied our team, 4 players on the enemy team proceded to report me. Users: dj http://steamcommunity.com/id/djmafia/ and Dunc http://steamcommunity.com/id/spencedunc/ can vouch for what happened. Tycoon has done this a few times in other lobbies but hasn't been reported for it (not sure about the other 3).

First things first, your reliabiltiy score will reset when the site is released fully so no need to worry on that front just FYI.

 

I've taken a look at the chat logs and tbh I don't see you telling them that the med is joining until they actually started reporting you. You were reported (i.e. the voting ended) at 07:55:14 and your first mention that "our med is joining" comes a full 13 seconds later at 07:55:27. Either it took you an awfully long time to type that message or you didn't tell them why you were unreadying until after you had already been reported.

 

You have to warn people either within a few seconds of you cancelling the ready otherwise they might get the wrong impression.

 

Also I can't personally justify banning people for using a function that we implemented. I don't see any obvious rule breach here, if you had warned them in good time that would be different but you didn't.

 

I'm gonna see what another moderator/developer thinks but right now I just don't see why we should ban any of these individuals.

They were probably just unaware of why you unreadied, in which case I can sort of see why they would want to rep you (some people troll like that). Additionally, usually when one person reps someone, the others follow more or less blindly, so I don't think the three others are really to blame if anything.

 

So I agree with REM, I don't think it's worth a ban. Sure, they were a bit quick to rep, but I can see where they're coming from.

Just try to be more transparent in future to avoid misunderstandings.
