So ever if you are in say NA and you join an NA server you could see get an easy 100+ ping due to the location of the server.

So maybe it would be handy to have a ping checker built in to where it would show your ping to the server. Although that may require a lot of bandwidth so I dunno. Just an idea!

Maybe make it a button they can press so it doesn't overload the server?

On it's way! In fact, this will also fix the problems some people have with turtle servers.

MN, waarschijnlijk is arie's implementatie van een afbeelding versturen en de RTT door de helft te doen het slimste. Hadden we het over @ i52

Sometimes I join USA servers (i'm from UK) and I'd like to be able to see my ping to the gameserver before I join the lobby. This may already be a feature so if so, just say. Otherwise, a little bit next to the sever name would be great.

I just had the same idea and searched the forum for it.

Found this thread, unfortunately it's still not added.

If i play NA-Lobbies from Europe i can get anything from 90ms ("ok") to 250ms ("totally unplayable").

So.. A Ping-Checker would help a lot.

Plis?

You can't really ping any random server from a web page. And getting the ping from TF2C to the server would be kinda irrelevant.

serveme.tf has a ping-checker, that's why i'm asking for such a feature here.

(sometimes it gives you wrong values, but if you check it 2-3x you get an accurate value)

If it's really not possible, you could make the server adress visible before the lobby starts, so people could perform a pingtest themselves through the windows console. (windows key + r, cmd, ping wilhelm.fakkelbrigade.eu) ez pz.

Would be a viable solution for the few players that sometimes like to play on different continents.

We currently provide the timezone location of the server; this will at least give you an indication if the server is located East, West or Central.

So as soon as you open the lobby page, your ping to the server will be determined if you hover over it.

This could be useful if you are playing out of your region and want to see if you have a low enough ping to play.

I end up guessing and got 100 ping on a server. This would cancel it.
