Recently I've been getting a problem where I semi-randomly have my mouse freeze: I can still WASD, stuff is still happening, but I can aim. Does anyone think it's possibly due to CPU overheating (possible, my comp is getting dusty) or is my mouse just trash? It's a logitech G400 by the way.

If it's only your mouse then try playing with another mouse? Your aim will be shit for the duration since new sensitivity, but you can see if it works

I have the same problem occasionally, it's most likely because of the mouse being optical. I never once had this problem with my laser mouse (g9x) but once I got this optical mouse (corsair raptor) it happens sometimes. BTW from what I've heard the G400 is a good mouse. I guess the only options are play with optical mice that occasionally freeze up or play with a laser mouse and deal with the acceleration.

Well it's odd because I've never had issues with it before. It just started happening recently. I've also been having heating problems recently, so I'm guessing there's a correlation, but I don't know if it even makes sense. I seem to be getting this problem when RJing and being around the action.

I'll try another mouse as soon as I get my hands on one.

I don't see how heating could have anything to do with this. It's obviously the sensor, and since g400 is an optical mouse which have a hard time reading surfaces, it sounds like that's the problem. Maybe invest in a better mousepad if you don't have a good one already. That's what I plan on doing.
