Would CTF need a complete rework to be playable in comp?

CTF isn't a bad gamemode. The maps just focus on movement from spawn to spawn, which isn't very good for a game where you can erect sentries, lay stickytraps and scope in to remove a chokepoint.
Capture the flag maps give two choices after spawning in: Camp at spawn or to push enemy spawn. One is a lot better than the other, can you guess which?
