Explanation for unban: I was banned for 'breaking' rule 4.5 which prohibits "inappropriate offclassing" among other things. The poster of my ban request made it clear that the "inappropriate offclassing" referred to the fact that I play pyro in 6's lobbies. While its true that the current meta for 6's suggests running two soldiers, two scouts, a demo and medic- there is no explicit rule in any competitive 6's division that bans the use of other classes. There is a suggested class setup, but unless I was intentionally disrupting the gameplay, getting around set class limits, or taking other users classes- I do not see how playing pyro warrants "inappropriate offclassing." In fact- I feel that it was appropriate. I am a significantly better pyro than I am scout, during the lobby that was listed in my ban request, I actually top-fragged, had the second highest damage and did the most for our team. (http://logs.tf/258140) I played seriously, and to the best of my ability. I worked with my team to accomplish the objectives of the match, I joined the mumble and participated with the rest of my team. I was not disruptive (beyond being upset over the Esea configs banning the powerjack) and did not play pyro to make players on either teams angry.
UGC does not ban pyro in 6's. ESEA does not ban pyro in 6's. CEVO does not ban pyro in 6's. ESEA does not ban pyro in 6's. The meta and mindset of the 6's community has shut out pyro as a usable class, and instead of learning to accommodate or overcome the addition of another class, they would rather shut it out and have it banned. I stand by my decision to run pyro, and I will continue to do so with my team as I move into UGC 6's division and CEVO. Regardless of how the class fits into the meta, there is no reason for a class to warrant a ban when the player was not doing anything intentionally disruptive to the actual gameplay.
