Hey, so I've always been curious and never been able to work it out. But how exactly do words get translated to phone numbers like in advertisements? For example, 1800-TEST. I know it's something to do with the dial pad, but I still have no clue nor can I work it out. Anyone free to enlighten me?

P.S I'm not the only one, Cookie doesn't know either! (Sshhhh, don't tell him I said that :P)

It's been fun, thanks for the ride.

I know, but for example, 1800-TEST, would that be 1800-8378?

Well you see kids.. back when phones only had 0-9 buttons, letters were assigned in groups of three to each number. This was very important when sending messages via text first started to become popular, because back then we didn't have full keyboards on our phones to send messages. Also everyone back then walked through 10 feet of snow going uphill both ways for 10 miles to get to school. Kids these days have it so easy.

I agree. That would suck living in a place that has snow. Ha!
Barely any snow here in the land of Kangaroos and Wallabies.

My new phone only texts. it doesn't have a phone app.

And nrd. we all come from a land down under.

although for my money this is better.  so brutal.  Easily one of the most memorable top 3 best picked bass lines.
