In two Highlander lobbies I've created, one yesterday and one today (koth and payload respectively) TF2center has applied the respective 6s configs and whitelists instead of the Highlander ones.

You can guess by going to your logs.tf and looking at matches

I have no idea how to find the lobby number from there, do I do it based on the timestamp?

7:22 PM - TF2C | Cookie Bday Today : are they only serve me servers?
7:23 PM - ♬ pazer: i think so
7:23 PM - TF2C | Cookie Bday Today : Means arie chaned something
7:24 PM - ♬ pazer: can't you just add tftrue_whitelist_id to the configs
7:24 PM - ♬ pazer: so it doesn't matter if the server is missing the whitelist if it's running tftrue

This is happening a lot, maybe always.   I can confirm it happened on a lobby for me, set up on my server, no changes to the server.

Some seasoned lobby leaders have also reached out to me.

mp_tournament_whitelist "cfg/item_whitelist_ugc_HL.txt"

This is what gets executed.

Since nobody is precisely is calling WHAT IS EXECUTED WRONGLY, I am not going to do anything.

You want something done here, reproduce this problem:

  • Make a Lobby with the desired configs
  • Collect the server FULL log (not logs.tf)
  • Paste it the specific parts where things go wrong

Just stating "TF2center has applied the respective 6s configs and whitelists instead of the Highlander ones." is way too vague

Most servers run tf2true can we just add a command to exec it with tf2true aswell just as a backup? I do not know reading logs and what to look for like you do which is why a bug report is made.

My logs are split into several not sure entirely what causes this but seems to be triggered by a config being executed or something else that I can't identify.

My server setup: http://puu.sh/nnSiW/c5d6cf384c.png

I don't bother changing server config because I assume that tf2c would take care of this.

Logs:

http://pastebin.com/hhakgrmT

http://pastebin.com/dYYe4PMp

http://pastebin.com/itbw2K06

"main" log (couldn't fit on pastebin): http://puu.sh/nnRZK/781dc37cfe.log

Timeline is:

  • 1st log begins: Server is initialized (by serveme? Can't tell if there's some non-rcon API stuff going on here, since the map is set to koth_lakeside, the correct lobby map, despite the fact that i set up for product).
  • tftrue_whitelist_id is set to item_whitelist_ugc_6v6 (does this override mp_tournament whitelist?)
  • 6v_standard config is executed
  • 2nd log begins: "UGC 6v6 config executed..." message is echoed to log/console/chat.
  • rcon command from 151.80.195.184 sets a bunch of cvars including mp_tournament_whitelist to "cfg/item_whitelist_ugc_HL.txt". Assuming this is TF2C doing this. Among other things, it also sets mp_tournament_stopwatch 1? What?
  • 3rd log begins: After one more setup rcon command from TF2C and some lobby wait time, players start joining. Anomalist notes whitelist is wrong (was unable to equip the gunslinger)
  • 4th log begins: I manually use the chat command !rcon exec ugc_hl_koth. This also appears to set tftrue_whitelist_id to item_whitelist_ugc_hl?

I will spend some time today trying to duplicate this.

It may have to do with prior config set-up.  So I will prep a server by loading the UGC 6's config, then run a HL lobby.  I re-iterate that no changes have been done to my servers in at least 2 weeks, so all of the configs and whitelists are where they were in the past when this worked correctly.

Most servers run tf2true can we just add a command to exec it with tf2true aswell just as a backup? I do not know reading logs and what to look for like you do which is why a bug report is made.

The standard UGC configs already run tftrue.

This is what I found in ugc_HL_base.cfg

//Item Whitelist
mp_tournament_whitelist "cfg/item_whitelist_ugc_HL.txt"
tftrue_whitelist_id "item_whitelist_ugc_HL"

https://tf2center.com/lobbies/648605

https://tf2center.com/log/648605

http://larpmingle.co...os/l0221002.log

The steps done to reproduce the bug:

1. Log in to server, exec ugc 6's config

2. Start a NA HL lobby UGC, mumble.

3. Upon joining, 6's whitelist still in effect

4. fix is to exec the UGC config

I'm going to close this bug as solved.

This sequence would cause these types of issues.  Note that it is very intermittent due to server owner behavior.  I think usually a single server owner plays a single gametype.  This is enhanced by a situation where serveme is allocated and plays just a few lobbies of one gametype, then is de-allocated into nothingness.

How to reproduce:

1. log into your server, load a UGC config (e.g. ugc_6v_koth.cfg)

2. Play your games or whatever

3. Go to tf2c and try to make a HL lobby

4. When the match starts, many of the 6's configurations remain

This has been fixed.

The cause was this sneaky server variable, "servercfgfile", that the tf2 dedicated server maintains in between map changes.  UGC sets it to the current config, and then a map change does not clear it.  Then the server will execute that server config file instead of the default server.cfg file.  This causes a bunch of collisions.

The fix is that TF2C now sets that variable back to default.  so the subsequent map change does not undo configurations.
