Hi

Im an old tf2 player (yes 31 years old and i've played tf2 at a high lvl years ago). I was in the invited IRC channel for gathers and played with the guys from the top teams.
Since reinstalling the game I only have 29 hours of play. I cant stand playing public play for 271 hours more so please let me in.

Im willing to donate if that helps.

Let me know what you guys think.

Regards
Gisen

So re-installing the game makes you lose your Steam-Account?

I thought you're someone who got VAC-Banned and now got an Alt and doesn't want to wait.

Sorry about that, you're clearly 100% legit. ^_^

Looks like that's a bug from steam, your playtime isn't supposed to reset, no matter what you do. Even if steam deletes a game from your account and you buy it again you would steel keep the hours and achievements.

Not easy for you to know.  I contacted steam support about my missing hours of gameplay (with low expectations of them really fixing it...) So is there anything you can do? At the moment i stopped playing tf2 altogether after the first rush of playing it again. Like i said i just cant stand playing public (i never do in any game, people are different). Im afraid i might stop playing it if i really have to get 300 hours again. Any other options? Donations? Trial period of sort?

Hey, i just found this thread:

http://forums.tf2cen...urs/#entry28807

I guess they can't/wont help you either.

You can just leave your tf2 open for 12 days straight without playing to get 300h.. :S

Hey Gisen,

You might have some luck with steam support, although dont hold your breathe. https://support.steampowered.com/

Unfortunately the system just doesnt allow sub-300 hour players to play.

I can talk to one of the devs about it but it's unlikely we can do anything for you.

So still no answer from steam support. What did the dev say? I appreciate your help.

If no one can help you, you'll have to idle your account. Leave it running at night, preferably all day. You don't need to be in a server, just launch TF2.

This is getting kind of frustrating... steam support cant help me. Cant I just get an invite? As my steam acc clearly states I have more than 300 hours of tf2.

Shouldn't it be pretty easy to make the 300 hour limit system check against a list of "special" players?

Shouldnt it be pretty easy to idle the game?   If we did implement something like this we would have a shit ton of people asking for. it would be like ea whole nother application thing.

I understand, but we already have a lot of people being like "I played before when it was just 100 hours, please?", "I have an alt with 5K hours, pretty please?", etc. I don't think those would increase by a lot.

I meant that as something used for special occasions like this that we're 100% sure are legit. Plus, he said he tried idling and it didn't work (not sure why though assuming he actually did it for 10+ days, it should work), and not everyone would want to have a computer running all day for that long.

I idle the game and the played time goes up. The next day the hours go back again. Tried logging into t2center and it says i only have 28 hours played even though my steam now says 58. Like it has been mentioned before. On my steam account looking at stats for tf2 you can easily see i've played more than 300 hours. Dunno what the problem is though.

Try relogging into TF2Center, that should update your hours. However, you still can't play until Steam says you have 300 hours in the game, no matter your class hours.
