I can get why some weapons are banned but why things like the soda popper, sandman, etc?

 Could someone explain it?

There are whitelists created by the leagues, they ban weapons they think are op or should be banned by any other reason, and were using thos to run lobbies

But seriously. Is the sandman, Bonk!, BFB, and others really so overpowered that they have to be banned?

Yes. They disrupt play and give an unreasonable advantage to the player using them.

If the leagues decide they should be allowed, we will allow them.

Don't use the UGC whitelist. They ban weapons they shouldn't.

Using a modified config on TF2C is not allowed.

Name me ONE weapon on that whitelist that shouldn't be banned.

As we are a comp site, and we use the comp league settings.  I guess I don't get this discussion at all!

Just throwing a net out here for community input, I moved this thread to requests forum.

Is anyone interested in a lobby creation option that does not force any whitelist?

There is a REASON why the weapons are banned, if you want to use banned weapons, go to pubs or something. Without weapon bans, highlander would be a major shit storm... 6's off classing would be a lot more obnoxious, and in other gamemodes like ultiduo, I'm pretty sure no one wants to play against some soldier using the DH and reserve shooter...

I want an ESEA whitelist,

however i think no whitelists is a terrible option. If it happens i guess ill just run crit-a-cola and BFB until people realize its a dumb idea.

Yeah no whitelist is just no. No. No. No. If we want that, we can make a TF2 pub server. No whitelist has no business in lobbies.

I think adding the ESEA config would be nice though like Dancenumber said, don't see a reason not to add it,

You can have center save your preferred whitelist while you're at it.

This. Basically allowing people to have a "default lobby creation" setting would be sorta cool, while it's not necessary, I think it would be a feature that would save people 1/2 a second of their lives.

Can we at least force hosts to use up to date whitelists? Out of date whitelists are as bad as a custom whitelist. Only takes one line in rcon to exec the current whitelist (using TFTrue).

I'd ideally like a settings menu so that you can choose each preffered config for 6v6, highlander, ultiduo... would save a few seconds but in the long run think of the hours or even days you can save people by this!

Given that switching from ETF2L takes literally 1 second, that's 1hr saved per every 3600 lobbies a player plays. A player would need to host 172,800 lobbies AND not want to use the ETF2L whitelist, for "days" to be saved.

Yeah but it's not just 1 player who opens a lobby and has to do it so it was nice you did the math even tho it's an absolutely worthless example.

There's no doubt that this feature would be convenient to the users of this site so if it's easy to implement it should be done. That's all there is to say about it...

Hardly worthless, the best part of 200k lobbies. That's like, more than the number of lobbies there has ever been probably.
