I've encountered other lobby players who use the excuse "nobody cares" for their behaviour. Most recently, it was a lobby host who loaded a config to "end" a lobby at 1-5, but that doesn't actually close the lobby on TF2C, which causes everyone's reliability (up to 4, or more if subs are gained) to be affected and makes several sub requests for a dead lobby until it's forced closed by excessive subs. I joined the Mumble channel to try and explain this to the host, but they stated that they knew this would happen and that "nobody cares." A few of them then proceeded to mock me.

I've been hearing that line a lot, and I'm wondering how this issue can be resolved to have a better lobby experience for everyone.

I think there's also a more general point Kent is bringing up. Another example would be a demo going demoknight "because its just a lobby" (Thanks STAR_). Overall, some people don't take the lobbies seriously at all, which can get in the way for people who do want to play seriously.

It's not about the loadout but the way you use it. Regardless if you like it or not lobby is a place for players to expirience the competitive formats, learn, experiment and so on. In some cases that means someone will run huntsman, backburner, shortstop, or a demo knight. And I don't see a problem with that. I've seen enough players running tryhard approved loadouts and doing worse.

Now as far as the reliability drop from lobbies not being closed correctly OP is talking about goes, imho reliability should not even be a vissible parameter. The only reason it exists is because it was a thing on lobby but I honestly don't see a point to it. A correct way to implement it would be to give you a 3 day time out from center if you rage quit ang get reported (by people not the automated system) 3 games in 48 hours or somesuch rule but having it in it's state right now it's just a meaningless number.

I run weaker loadouts if the other team is not as good.  FYI.
