Please read this before making a post.

We've been getting reports of people not being able to log in to TF2Center properly. If you are having login issues then please post your steam ID, profile link or steam profile number in this thread.

Possible reasons for not being able to log in include:

• You are banned from any of the following:
• TF2C itself (Check the ban section)
• VAC (Can be checked on your profile page or on steamrep)
• ETF2L (Check here)
• UGC
• Sourcebans
• A large community (e.g. Lotus, UKCS etc) - this is not always the case. Admins are allowed to ban people who have been banned for bad behaviour on other servers as long as there is sufficent evidence.

• You have less than 300 hours played on TF2
• Your profile is private and it's your first time logging in (you may set your profile back to private once you have logged in)
• You have an adblocker enabled. Sometimes adblockers/firewalls/internet security programs interfere with the site's functions.

Note: we are working on a system which tells you if you are banned and why. This will hopefully be implemented soon.

Known bugs with the login system:

• Sometimes the hours of a profile that was previously private do not download to the database correctly and so the hours played is shown as 0, thus not allowing users to log in. We are working to fix this issue.
• You may attempt to login and you will be redirected to a blank page after steam login. This can be caused by outdated session cookies which generally occurs after an update to TF2Center has been deployed. Delete your cookies and try again. Current workaround: Ensure you have set a personalized URL for your steam profile. Thanks to Oye Beto for discovering this fix.

If you think you are experiencing a bug then post here and we will manually verify your account and add it to the database.

I had the white screen after steam login and I FIXED IT.

 

Set a personalized URL if you haven't.

 

Here's how:

Go to your profile in steam and click 'Edit profile'. There you can see you display name and other stuff. Set your personalized URL (http://steamcommunity.com/id/example)

 

It should fix it.

Hi brothers and sisters.

 

A friend of mine would like to play some TF2Center, but his current account only has 59 hours registered in TF2. However, he has far more experience than that: his previous account, which he had to discard because of e-mail issues (he doesn't own any games on that old account, so don't worry about that), has around 170 hours in the game.

As you can see, the friends list and group list are extremely similar, and the previous account was last active almost a year ago. This should be enough evidence that both accounts are from the same person, he is more than eligible to play on TF2Center.

*Update*

 

It works! I changed my profile to private, loged off, waiter 10 minutes, loged in, changed it to public, loged off, loged in, waited 10 minutes and now I can login in on the lobby page.

By the way, he always has to log in with his confirmation code for some reason. As if he was switching computers or browsers every time he tried to log in.

That's a steam issue as steam servers handle the authentication and SteamGuard code.

I'm having problems logging into the lobbies. It keeps telling me I'm on private. I have more than 100 hours. Dont think I'm banned, and I have adblock disabled. So not sure whats up.

So not sure why it wasn't logging me in before, but I went and updated Chrome and started TF2 and now I can log in. So no clue.

Due of constant updates of the site one of the potential sources of this bug could be an old versions of files cached by browser. Therefore the first thing that everyone who have met this problem should do is wiping out cache of your browser.

But that's not the point. This literally only happens in TF2Center, every other site works just fine.

This also happens in every browser.

I recently made a new Steam account. My profile is not on private and has not been for the last 2 hours, however TF2Centre is still telling me to make my profile public. I have less than 100 hours in TF2 on this account.
