At peak times you guys could create specific lobbies with maybe 16 teams fighting it out for a big(ish) prize.

So starting off with 16 teams, where all the players need to donate 1 ref to enter.

Then play it out like the knock out stages like in etf2l/ugc. so 16-8-4-2-1

Winners get to win a large percentage of the ref.

hope this is worded correctly

We were definatly planning tournaments at some point but I asked amarinder to post here since he seemed to have more of an idea of the specifics than me.

Thanks for the post :D

This idea has been in our plans from the start. Would like to hear more thoughts about it.

Status updated "Scheduled".

We could advertise 4v4 by having such a tournament.

4v4 would be a good format to test out a tournament system.

Ultiduo is another one, very simple to set up.

Glad to see this is still a thing.

I´m sure tourneys with an entry fee would attract people but I would go even further.

1v1, 2v2...everything should be possible anytime and not necessarily in a connection to a tournament.

I can imagine something where players can set up everything themselves, according to their individual needs. Class(es)/Stake/Whitelist/stuff like randomizer and whatnot...

And then a special section on center itself where requests are listed like:

Saga wants to duel!

Scout-Scout on arena_nucleus to 10

Stake: 1ref

Weapons allowed: ~~

Ehh whatever, something like this would work IMO. This system would probably require tons of trusted middlemen who have to spend their time for that. I´m not a fan of that. A bot similar to the ones used on scrap.tf should do the job too. First players need to give the bot metal/keys/buds which will then be converted into credits for this site. I think this is way easier to manage.

I might have forgotten some aspects of my idea which I eventually add later.

Is this still happening? Also You will need to find ways to prevent a certain amount of people from the same UGC/ETF2L team joining? Maybe make a max of 3 players limit, to prevent a load of prem players joining one team and rolling to get prizes.

Everyone who want to take care about organisation of TF2C tournaments are welcome to help us with this. There was a discussion in a member section, still no volunteers though.

Well we have plenty of volunteers (including me), just no one willing to be in charge (including me).

Saying "volunteers", I meant "the one who willing to be in charge".

Does "The one who willing to be in charge" have to be good at anything other than organization skill and past team leaderships.

Why don´t you just start with 1v1/2v2 stuff and add tournaments later?

When are we scheduling?  Can I make a suggestion?

New Years day?  Winning teams get unusuals and maybe a tf2 character portriat.

I am willing to cast/stream and get some folks who are known involved in this.  Especially towards the end.

Maybe we can come up with some craziness.  Like winning players get two unusuals one for themselves and one for one of the bottom teams if they are watching the final.  Not sure...

I'll pony up an unusual or two.

Ninja, get a hint from me. You even can take organisation on yourself ;) Basically the tournaments organisation is about PR. So the the person who will be in charge of TF2C tournaments mostly need to spread news, ask people, find teams, write forum posts, post announcements, be a mediator between devs and community to decide related technical questions, like servers for closed lobbies (they must be closed for specific team during tournament) etc.

So I repeat, everyone who have enough spare time and passion can head this. Except the availability of the free time, I don't see here anything "complicated". I personally agree to help anyone in this quest. Just start to do something. Seriously guys!

If I'll see that there is a real movement will start, I'm ready to support this process with any design related stuff, like posters, badges etc.
