You can do the reasearch if you want to. If we deem that these players should be banned, they will be. If they do something out of line on TF2C, you can take it to the ban forum.

This has been discussed internally.

Surely this is the only reason it isn't a blanket ban on those banned on etf2l, and rather a warning for lobby leaders?
ETF2L's api also provides a reason for the ban which could be displayed.

Fwiw tf2pickup has a blanket ban on etf2l banned players.

Seems like another move in the wrong direction. They should be banned.

TF2Center is an independent project. ETF2L, UGC, TF2pickup or whose ever else rules has no connections with us. If you have something concrete to say, do it applying the proper arguments. "They should be banned" isn't the argument at all. As has been mentioned above, some players banned on ETF2L because they violated some internal ETF2L rules not connected with the hacking. We are tracking all cheaters and hackers on TF2C. And if this is your main concern, no need to worry about this, we take care about them.
Also you lost the OP's idea absolutely. This topic is about the marking ETF2L banned players on TF2C.

Does this mean you actively keep an eye on ETF2L banned players for signs of hacking?
It feels unfair that one community's judgment should be able to stop a player from playing anywhere else. If they cheat here or are disruptive they should be banned here for that not for ETF2L's judgment

As far as I'm aware, ETF2L is the only community to have an active anti-cheat team, and therefore are probably the most reliable source to go by when marking out cheaters?
Posted 04 January 2015 - 03:49 PM
ETF2L has a very active and reliable anticheat team, I trust their judgement on who is and isn't cheating. I see no issue with a warning that a user is/has been banned for cheating.

Of course, no. We are not internet police. We care about the hacking on TF2C. We have our own admins team. We are in contact with ETF2L. We have a forum to report players. And this is quite enough to keep TF2C as a "haxor free" place. But we don't think that the hacking in competitive league is the same as a hacking in lobbies.

I simply do not understand - surely someone that would hack in a competitive league is even more likely to be hacking in lobbies?

I agree. If a player is banned from a league for reasons involving either suspected cheats or simply unprofessional behaviour, then I for one would not want them in a lobby surrounded by potentially new players that don't need to experience this. Why wait until they hack in a lobby when you could just prevent them doing so altogether.
Just some form of warning system would do a world of good, so individual lobby creators can make the decision for themselves as to whether they want these players in their lobby or not.

Quite simply we won't ban people unless we see the evidence with our own eyes. If the AC team on any league was to ban someone who commonly plays lobbies we'd be more than happy to take their judgement into account and potentially look into it, but we'd need the demos in our hands before we make a full decision.

The request isn't about banning people from TF2C, it's about showing the lobby leader that a player in their lobby is banned from a large league with one of the best anti-cheat teams out there. The information is already available (by checking each individual player's ETF2L page) but this request asks for a more concise and readily available view of the information.
It's exactly the same situation as showing a player's hours - the information is readily available by checking their steam profile, but the TF2C devs have provided a quick easy way of viewing that already available information. We are not asking for a ground-breaking new anti-cheat system, or for you to look over individual demos or some sh*t.

Kengur's script shows bans, I recommend it. http://etf2l.org/for...c-30815/page-1/
