Hi All,

We have deployed a new update today which adds in our new notification feature. This will allow us to send you important information such as new updates, tournaments and TF2 events of interest. This system will be expanded upon to provide even further functionality such as player reminders, private notifications to select groups of individuals and more!

Also included in this update is a new detection protocol for AdBlock plugins. This is to ensure that you have the best experience on TF2Center.

The TF2Center team want to ensure you we have no current plans to introduce any sort of ads to our website or it's pages, nor does this detection protocol indicate we have plans in the future to do so. Our current position is adding ads to our website would be a detriment to our website and our community.

Please see the FAQ item for more information.

Hope you all enjoy. If there is any issues, please be sure to report them on the forums

Thanks!

TF2Center Team

Why is the adblock detector there? Why is there no way to exit out of it?

Adblok screws things up. You can very easily whitelist TF2Center in your settings.

As said in the FAQ, it interferes with the sites operations. It can block websockets from updating, stop the notification system from working, etc. There aren't ads on TF2C, and no plans to add them, so there's really only bonuses to disabling adblock :P

Oh,  things might be starting to make sense to me now ... is adblock the reason my connect to server and mumble buttons do not work?

If you're using HTTPS, than that is your browser itself. Right click on the button -> Open link in new tab will solve that problem.

If you're not using HTTPS, than yes, AdBlock was probably the problem.
