Very simple premise, simply listen to the poster above yours' song and give it a rating out of 10 based on your perception.

Kicking things off with some delicious Sabaton:

I like the idea of this thread. I rate the above an 8.5/10 - dang, that chorus is catchy. I guess I'll throw down some TTNG;

5/10. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it's just too underwhelming and reserved for me.

Bringing out the big guns early:

8/10, well put together song, and some nice progression to it.

Taking things to the (slight) extreme:

5/10 I had to stop listening because of the vocals, can't stand that style!

I will take it to the most extreme that I like, then I will tone it down and post things more people might actually like

6/10 And I'm not particularly fond of those vocals myself, they're pretty hard to understand, which takes away from half the point of vocals (lyrics). Instrumentally, it sounds alright, but a little clunky. Still some nice parts at times though.

Let's mellow a little (but definitely not in music quality):

8/10 I came in thinking it was going to be way too experimental for its own good, but that woman's voice as a constant is great, combined with the various musical themes to make a really unique and interesting track. Maybe it's a little over the top, but I enjoyed it.

Let's knock up another classic:

I really like the intro, it's kind of music going through the ages.

After that, I find it a bit slow, and the combination of instrumental and voice is a bit hazardous. While the Guitar riff is really fun, the solo is pretty underwhelming.

When the song slows down around 5:00, it gets more composed and enjoyable.

I know that the lyrics are there, in the song, but they really aren't coming through for me, I can't quite put my finger on why.

I give it a very subjective 6/10

Here's a personal favorite:

It might take a sec to get used to it, it's a bit odd by most standards.

7/10, the jungle like sound reminds me of the sound of the early Crash Bandicoot games, which is a good thing, and I like the surmounting tension throughout the song, but I guess it can get pretty repetitive, especially considering it's pushing into the length of an epic.

An underrated 80's Metallica song now:

Definitely a strong song but I've never been one for metal, so 7/10 for me. Now, if this song doesn't get 10/10, I either linked the wrong video or you're insane.

9/10 I'm not a massive fan of The Beatles, but this is definitely one of their best songs.

Here's a band I've been giving some more attention to recently: Queensryche.

6/10. I like that kind of music but... Ok, i'm not a metal expert, even if I listen to that genre pretty often. But this song seems too classical to me. It is very similar to what people usually make (i may be wrong ^^). So, less points.

Moreover, that's kinda repetitive.

Mine (a classic again gnnnn) :

(yes i know, that song has exactly the same defects, but lyrics. lyrics... THEY WERE RIGHT eqcnf<jxrr)
