Personal Description

I've been involved in the TF2 community for quite a while now, I basically grew up with the game. I started off playing in US pugs and eventually started running a medium sized pug group called CPPUGS. It was fun white lasted but I was young and stupid and playing on 200 ping... not ideal.

I then turned my attention to the Australian community and formed a team called Vision Gaming in 2010, who still play today. Now I play on a local New Zealand team after completing a season on a mid level Australian team.

In mid 2013 I formed TFLIVE, currently the only active casting organisation that covers High Level Australian 6v6 TF2. With that comes all the organisational work; organizing casters, liaising with the teams, producing content including overlays; as well as the technical work that comes with running a stream.

I have also been involved in live production for about 7 years, mainly in the area of Stage Lighting. I have a good knowledge of live event production, which involves time sensitive tasks as well as lots of planning, combined with a sprinkle of technical knowledge here and there. I have been PA to the Technical Director for a conference of 2000 delegates, as well as lead lighting programmer and operator for one venue hosting about 1000 delegates. I believe that this experience, combined with my involvement in TFLIVE, makes me well suited for running and coordinating live events.

Over the years I have run a few servers and therefore have basic knowledge of source engine servers. I also consider myself a more technical player and have a good understanding on how scripts and configs work. I currently am entering stage 2 of Computer Science at The University of Auckland, so while I currently only have surface level knowledge on programming and networking, in the coming years I will only learn more.

Which brings me to the probably most important part, I originally introduced TF2Center to the Australian community. I was an admin in the most active pug group in Australia and decided that it was total crap (I was not alone) so thought sending in a message to the TF2Center team would be good. I edited the configs for Australian play and introduced the community to the idea on the forums... and then it took off.

In general, I consider myself to be highly interested in building community and fostering new ideas, as well as being suited to run live events, and as such would be a great fit to what TF2Center wants to do going forward.
