Joined a sub mid-game as medic. Spawned as heavy because other player played medic and I got told to switch back to medic or I'll be "punished for off-classing". I can't switch to medic if someone else is already playing medic. This is BS.

just ask them to switch to a different class other than medic and then you can join med without a problem, when they said you get punished for offclassing it's just they were trying to warn you that the longer you stayed on heavy, the more likely the automod will assume you're offclassing. when this happens again, kindly ask them to switch from med to a different class . hope this helps your case!
