TF2Center Profile:
https://tf2center.co...561198121590248
Idea/Suggestion Type:
Lobby page
Description:
I've made a lot of friends over regularly playing some lobbies and I usually add them on Discord along with Steam and to talk to them I invite them to my team's discord server. We have over 100 people. But if we just had a Discord server like literally any TF2 website we could just have a general chat and communicating/VC with friends/teammates. I know that we have Mumble integration but no one uses it in EU anyway and we don't really need integration and programming for it I think, if we could only have a normal discord server it'd be great for the admins and everyone.
Pros/Cons:
Pros
-Easier Communication
-More Integrated Community
-More Interactable Forums
-More Modern

Cons
-Would take some work
-Literally none

We have already tried it twice; it didn't really work out. So, unfortunately, not going for a third attempt ;-(

Hi !

Sorry to bump this old topic, but I had the same idea. As long as what "name" said about it being good for the community, I thought about making a tf2center Discord being good for the website especially for the admins.

What I mean by that is, I think that a lot of people get confused by how the forums work on this website, whether it would be to ban someone or to request being unbanned. I think a lot of admins are being added on Steam instead of the players writing a post on the forums, simply because the players do not know how to reach out.

I got inspired by the ETF2L discord, as their way to make players reach out to admins is pretty simple. When a player makes a request, a written channel opens under "Open admin requests" and the player is welcomed by a bot saying an admin will reply soon. On TF2Center, the player then would say "I'd like to ban that person" or "I'd like to be unbanned" etc...

Then, when an admin replies the written channel goes under "Ongoing admin requests".

I find that way of organising things appealing as much for players on tf2center (its easier to access, more understandable as everyone knows how to use discord), as for admins (I'm just guessing as I'm obviously not an admin on tf2center, but the overall layout of the admin aspect of the ETF2L discord looks very organised and appealing for me, that's why I'm saying that).

Of course as well as everything I've just said, it would be nice to have a general channel, voice channels maybe I don't know, we can get really creative. I don't think it should replace mumble in the lobbies though.

If you still have problems about making it or whatever reasons it didn't work out before, I would be more than happy to (try and) help making it possible.

tldr tf2center discord would be cool for admins too
