I'm new to TF2Center and only recently figured out about the forums, so excuse me if I posted in the wrong category.

So I'm inspired to play Competitive TF2 and recently started. However, I soon realized that the current state of my life might hold me back or even get me into trouble. Right now, I am 13 years old and, of course, I have parents and an uncontrollable schedule that has brought me paranoia when I realized what this may mean for playing Comp.
My parents don't understand the concept that you can't pause online games. Believe me, I already tried telling them a milion times. This hasn't really effected me in Casual where I could just leave and all that really happens is that I don't gain any XP. But I soon realized that it would be way worse if I had to get off in Comp.
Most of the time, my parents only make me get off my computer for chores and dinner. While they always tell me when I have to get off for dinner, chores always come at some random time, and they don't like waiting even a little bit for me to do stuff like put away the dishes or walk our dog. This is the problem. Usually, I can tell how long until I have to do a chore, and right now, I only play comp when I'm 100% certain that I won't get interrupted. However, in the span of my first 2 games, I already had a close call on my first.
So does anyone know what I could do to ensure that I won't get interrupted when playing comp? What would happen if I do get interrupted and have to get off the computer? What can I do? Any suggestions?

I'll confess with you too, I'm 20 and my parents still make me do chores while i'm gaming, with no concept on pausing a game either. What I tell myself is this: Is gaming more important or your real life and parents? This allows me to make the right choice every time. Who cares if you die, your team loses? It's a game. I understand that gaming/comp is important but you'll look back one day and see if you made the right choices through your relationships with your parents. Answering your question, I would just tell your parents that you are playing a competitive game, like a real life sport, where it cannot be paused. Give them a time-frame, 1 hours or 2 hours on the computer before getting off immediately, maybe they'll understand, just like my parents did.

Good luck.

An advice to predict the chore times better I would give you is look around yourself. Are your parents/siblings washing dishes? Prepare to be ready to put them away. Is your dog being uneasy or has he been fed around 30 minutes ago? It's time to walk him/her. Etc. Maybe do the chore yourself if you notice it before your parents do, you get extra credit for that.

By comp I'm assuming you mean TF2Center by comp here but I'll also address scrims with your team from persp of a team leader,

In lobbies, you can use !rep me to report yourself in lobbies in a ditch. While leaving will result in a cooldown ban, once you're done with your chores just wait a bit. You shouldn't get more than 2 cooldowns per day, and you can decrease them by taking sub spots. I would tank the few reps if it's like 2-3 chore calls per day, so unless your parents are making you a part-time maid, you should be alright. Besides if you can afford it, you can wait for your sub to come, and then you get no penalty for repping yourself.

As for scrims, surprisingly, you can actually pause scrims. However most teams do not like to pause, so unless both your team and the opponent team are alright with it it's gonna get you anywhere from a frown to forceful ultimatums or a forceful unpause. In officials, the allowed pause length is 10 minutes I believe for most leagues per 1 half of the game.

HOWEVER, if you have to do like 10 chores per game, exceed the length of the pause, or have to switch off your computer when you're not using it, it can make you seem unreliable in the eyes of your team leader, and expect to get cut or demoted. Not being able to practice efficiently in TF2Center etc can also sometimes warrant a cut.

So what would be the official answer? Till now, 4 : 2 3 6 = 4 : 11 Quite evident that our own people are neither aware of what Team Reboot is nor about its activities. Such a shame.

Or why not just tell her that he is working on a case that he is not able to speak about??

I kept waiting for someone to say, Sorry it is a classified case and I have an oath not to speak of it. Not that difficult.
