TF2Center Profile:

Idea/Suggestion Type:
Lobby creation
Description:
Kinda tired of playing against soldiers, demos and scouts with LITERALLY 10x my hours (8-10,000 is the norm)

TF2Center has become a place for platinum micro-dongs to crush "newer" (relatively, of course) players.
Balanced lobbies are nonexistent because higher hour players join the team with other higher hour players.
Balance-feature lobbies are never made because they never fill.

So why not have the option of starting lobbies with different difficulty grades?
So if you've got no competitive experience (me) and don't want to fight platties, you can be placed against people with no comp experience/low div.

Grades should talk into account hours played, lobbies played, performance in lobbies, and medals (like placement/participant in UGC) in inventory.
Grade 1 - Fresh out of pubs / no experience in Comp
Grade 2 - Does extremely well in pubs / very low-div comp experience / has played plenty of lobbies before
Grade 3 - mid div / plays a whole lot of lobbies
Grade 4 - good at mid div / plays high div
Grade 5 - Platinum and beyond.

As someone does increasingly well in a grade they would be considered for a promotion and automatically promoted if they have a very high win rate.

Players like medics would probably not be considered for score grades because you can't roll as medic (or at least have maybe 3 grades).

I'd suggest we add this to HL to but players already stretch thin.
Pros/Cons:
Games will be fun for once.

You think it's wise to split up an already small player base?

But on the flipside, don't you think it would attract new players if there was a semi-matchmaking service that was free (unlike ESEA) and competent (unlike In-game MM) and time convenient (unlike UGC/leagues)?

We're working on onboarding new players, but not by splitting them up into separate groups.
