Description:
Demoknight is too strong, especially in Highlander, which usually lacks any communication at all. It is not fun to play against, and is virtually impossible to counter when the Demoknight is being pocketed by a Quick-Fix Medic. Demoknight has too much mobility and damage, and when paired with the Eyelander, after enough frags, the range, speed and health is farr too high. In a product lobby I just played, a Demoknight on the enemy team had a K:D of 59:5.
Pros/Cons:
Pros:
Demoknight is boring and annoying to play against.
Demoknight is unfair.
Demomen will not be able to potentially ruin lobbies by not playing Demoknight ineffectively.
Ruins practice for actual competitive play, hindering newer players.
Virtually invincible.

Cons:
Can't make fun of the kid complaining about Demoknight

I have to agree. Too many lobbies are ruined by demoknights getting daft KDs like 64:3. There's also way too many new players on tf2c at the moment to have a co-ordinated and experienced team who are easily capable of taking care of demoknights. At the end of the day it just ruins the atmostphere and is overpowered if you don't have a team that can deal with it - which is a standard tf2center team.

Demoknights should be banned, I played a game earlier against a Demoknight (HL) as Soon as the Team realised he was Demoknight they just gave up, Snipers going Huntsman etc. It ruins the atmosphere and isn't fun to play against.

It's not actually bannable, unless UGC/ETFL leagues decide to ban it on their whitelist too. Doesn't give us a reason.

So you're trading your extremely effective splash/spam damage dealing class in a cluttered and spammy gamemode for a retard that can only melee and gets 2-3 shot by anything resembling a competent hitscan class. How is that in any way OP lmfao. The only reasons why you'd be getting killed by a demoknight are the following:

 

1. You're an absolute bot

2. The rest of your team are absolute bots

 

If that's the case, the problem doesn't lie with the loadout, but with your or your team's poor skill level. You'd be losing way harder against a team with an actual demoman

This is exactly my stance. One cannot claim that it ruins practice for actual competitive play, when it is allowed in actual competitive play. To ask to ban it and claim that as a reason, is in actuality, arguing against banning it.

#1 - Use the Splash Damage of a Soldier or Demo to send him into the air

 

 

- If in HL

 

 

#1 - Airblast the Demoknight as Pyro

 

 

Congratulations! You have effectively rendered Demoknight useless with three classes!
