Idea/Suggestion Type:
Lobby page
Description:
Open lobby servers. I mean by having "Pre-made" servers for TF2Center. The host could be anyone. First come first serve. The Freemium idea could support this with players locking a spot before hand. The servers would be made. And it could be reused. The server would be in the U.S and the European sides. The maps would rotate after every match. With donating, people can change maps, lock positions, and more. While players who are their to play without freemium, or donate, they could just select a spot. I'm really hoping you guys look into this aspect because we wouldn't have to be waiting for a while for someone to create a match.
Pros/Cons:
Pros:
No waiting
Everyone can get into a match ASAP
Spots
Servers all around the world
Cons:
Donators/Freemium members get some/most of the power
Time zones

I don't see how this solves the "waiting problem"; right now, there are usually more open Lobby slots than Players, so the waiting problem arises. Donating/Freemium does not solve anything here ;-(

Two things could be provided by the site:

  • Lobby servers, in the sense they are fully integrated into the site UI, I think they would encourage people to stop asking for lobbies to be created.
  • A public server, to chill out and pass time while waiting. It would also help advertise TF2Center.

I can see how this could work, but it would just require too much effort. We simply do not have the dev capacity...
