Name: Told you a storm was coming!

SteamID / Profile Link: STEAM_0:0:20482016

Joined the lobby I was using a noise maker during PREGAME. Team was in mumble with me and no one had any complaints. Other team starts to REPORT me as missing from the lobby, so I assumed it was because of my noise maker. I took the noise maker off and the match started. We were doing pretty good on the first round and they kept trying to report me missing after I clearly stopped using the noise maker for 3+ minutes.

I get that noise makers are annoying, but that is absolutely no excuse to kick someone from a lobby and punish their team especially when the match already started. Thanks for letting my team play a person down and literally ruining the entire lobby making it a 3-0 steam roll. If you don't like something on your server use a whitelist. My team mates in the chat were like "Why are you reporting our demo he is here" I find it a little funny that seven players wearing the same tag in a lobby get killed by me multiple times then report me missing so I get kicked.

This whole mumble trash talking thing wasn't even me. I'll gladly sit in mumble with some admins and let them clearly hear my voice. If someone is ruining your communications simply LOCAL MUTE them. I don't even understand how I would be banned for a random recording in mumble. Can I just like record someone insulting me and causing issues and say "Oh it was this guy here please ban him" Absolutely no evidence linked to my account...

This whole process is a little ridiculous. To put this into comparison it would be like banning someone from the server for using the pan because some individuals don't like the sound it makes. Absolutely ridiculous.

I wish I could find the server logs of the chat to show you how many times their time tried to report me and not my own team. I didn't even see anyone requesting that I stopped using the noise maker. Regardless I took it off and still was being reported several minutes after. I'm sorry but this is one of the most selfish things I've witnessed a lobby leader do it ruined the entire match and made it in within 10 minutes.

http://logs.tf/305797 for the chat. Your timings are a little off, fwiw.

People have the ability to kick people for whatever reason. We tend not to step in on this unless it is persistent, and while that means players can be kicked for arbitrary reasons, it is possible.

I have very little doubt that it was you in the recording - the voice chat is exactly describing your situation, including things like when you removed the noise-maker. The ban has been applied for what happened after the kick, rather than the use of the noisemaker.

Having said all that, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. While your actions were wrong in joining their mumble channel, there was misinformation in the ban request and antagonising chat from both sides in mumble.

In future, please don't join the other team's mumble in this way - there's nothing to be achieved, and it disrupts the game for other players that may not be involved in the incident. If there's a problem with a group of players, let us know and we can investigate impartially.

I've reduced the ban to expire 2 hours from now.
