Well it's loud for a purpose, but it might be interesting/funny to replace it by a client side sound bite.

A custom sound instead of the regular heavy would be cool to implement. Have a selection of 10 or more sounds, or the ability to upload or play a custom one.

Sometimes the "who is not ready" is really annoying, and idk, something like a buzzer or alarm would really grab attention.
Why do mathematicians confuse Halloween and Christmas? Because 31 Oct = 25 Dec!

Sounds like an unnecessary feature to me. Just lower your sound if it's too loud.

Honestly, knowing the devs, if this is accepted then it'll be at the very bottom of the list aka never get done. But it's always nice to throw ideas around.

Some of us are using our sound for other things, such as games or TV/Movies so that is not really a solution at all.

Surely you can raise your volume of a movie or something in your media player.

Anything too high in VLC compromises sound quality, anything in browser like Amazon Prime is generally already maxed out ... so no, no I can't.

Uploading custom sounds would be an enormous waste of space for TF2Center if they were being hosted by them.

why not have a notification?

I do like the idea of a notification.

I think at the very least it would be beneficial to give each user some settings to control how this functions.
