Bug type: Main page
Lobby ID: --
Date & Time: 9th & 10th September

I've always had Adblock Plus disabled on TF2Center, yet even after uninstalling it, I am still getting redirected away from the lobby page after a couple of seconds to an ad blocker warning.

Using Chrome instead of FireFox doesn't help – I saw one person say that worked for them.

I'm pretty sure it's not just me, because I saw several others with the same issue posting in main page chat last night. Please advise.

Try Chrome in incognito-mode, without any plugins.

Do you happen to have a toaster, that cannot load ads within 4 seconds?

Can you provide the HTML source of the /lobbies page before it redirects?

Sure! http://s000.tinyuplo...451664329785746

FYI if it helps I'm running Kaspersky 2016, which has an anti-banner plugin, but I have TF2C whitelisted for that plugin.

Thanks for trying, I'm missing those lobbies already :)

Before it redirects, do you see the ads, left and right?

No, they are greyed out, although I used to see them before this current update.

Then something on your PC is blocking them; could be very much your virus scanner. The system detects if the ads are present or not; it doesn't matter what is causing it: adblock, anti-virus, ...

I'm afraid you need to figure out what's interfering with your browser...

Yeah, it might be in the web part (not the anti-banner part) of the AV, although usually it's pretty good at only blocking malicious ad services. Could you help me with the URL of the TF2C ad service? Not totally sure I want to whitelist a third party site, but maybe it's worth a look.

Update: resolved the issue. Thanks for your input earlier, MN. This will affect all Kaspersky users in its default state, so I suggest TF2C's ad blocker detector, or the advertisers chosen (if they are the ones that determine ads can only be shown if targeting is enabled) be adjusted. Perhaps pass this on in a post somewhere?

Although Step 1 is reasonable, I should not have had to perform steps 2 and 3. Step two, as the name suggests, blocks suspicious activities, not ads per se. Step 3 doesn't block anything if correctly configured, it only detects, and yet it needs to be completely disabled, affecting all websites.

Temporary fix for Kaspersky users:

1.) Whitelist *tf2center.com* in Kaspersky's Anti-Banner plugin. I already had this done before the September ad update, but other people will need this too.

2.) Whitelist *tf2center.com* in Web Anti-Virus section of Kaspersky Settings.

3.) That still won't be enough. Disable Private Browsing completely in Kaspersky Settings. Kaspersky has the option to detect without blocking, and I know this works on other ad-required websites for me. However, this still triggers TF2C ad-block. Whether that's a result of detection at TF2C's end, or the advertisers' end, I don't know.

It is not necessary to uninstall Adblock Plus as long as it's disabled on tf2center.

Good to hear you managed to resolve it; I will post this on our community support forums. In return I will grant you 2 months free donatorship, which include the perk of not showing any ads. Ironically... xD

Update: I can't resolve your TF2C profile. If you could provide that, I will have everything I need...
