Nodoka,

Certainly.  I have included a few lines from the rules thread below that may apply.

It is not as simple as "say this word, get this penalty."   Personally, I have a big problem with racism (especially N word) and people that throw around "Gay" as if it were bad and the word Faggot.   As a human, I will usually step up and say something against that behavior - just as I would IRL in a store or whatever.  I have openly Gay and openly Black friends, and I stick up for them even when they are not around.  I would suggest you do the same in a somewhat friendly manner.

All of that being said, I think we need to have thick skin.  Gamers under the anonymity of the Internets seem to gravitate towards this language a bit.  There is a fine line between talking smack in a game and verbal abuse.  I like a little smack talk as much as anyone else.  Usually it means you have outplayed someone.  As a sniper I find it appropriate at this point to wave at that player after ever kill, so that they know there is no hard feelings.

About once a day, before and after I have been a mod, I have told some Iron demo wannabe to lay off a 300hr medic. (Usually they both are awful.)   I usually pull out a line like "It's a lobby, lighten up, at least he is trying, he will get better."

Sorry, got on the soapbox.  Screenprint, demo, or record from mumble some examples and post a ban thread.   The mods and I are getting pretty good at knowing who the scumbags are.  We may reject, but it will play in to the next time we see their name.  Posting a thread is not a guaranteed punishment, but maybe they will get some words from the mods about their behavior in a 1-on-1 situation.

Also, leaving a ban request helps us keep track of who's been naughty. They're more likely to get banned if they have multiple ban requests. It makes our life much easier.

I've had gay friends and black friends in the past. I still use the slang terms associated with them, and they did to. Obviously if it's overwhelmingly obnoxious then it's a problem but saying a few words jokingly that someone might find offensive is going to happen all the time.
