Hello,

I had an idea recently about blacklisting players. What I mean by this is if a player is particularly rude or spiteful to me in a lobby and I don't want to end up in a lobby with this person then I can just hit a button next to his name (perhaps in the players online list) and I won't have to play with him again.

I know I could just submit a ban report but bans are not handed out for first time cases of flaming and it may be that 2 players just don't get along with each other and best be seperated.

This also serves as a temporary defence against hackers and cheaters who have yet to be spotted and banned.

What do you guys reckon?

We are definetly planning on a feature to ban players from the lobbies you create.

It would be nice if there was a way to make a persistent saved list of people that are forbidden from playing in your lobbies. There's some people on this site that aren't going to get a full ban from tf2center, but I definitely don't want them playing in my lobbies.

1. Currently there scenario that some user can avoid ban by joining lobby last second, during "Ready up!". Lobby host have little time frame to react to this

2. You can't ban specs. This + #1 = person may stay in specs and wait for last second to join.

Possible solution is personal ban lists, so blacklisted person can't join lobby at any moment. I see no reason why you can't ban specs, if you can ban players.

I find this idea interesting because it could help spot undesirable players based on trends, not based on accusations.

I might avoid someone who is a jerk, but not report.

There are a lot of lobbies that I've played and thought to myself "Jesus Christ, that guy is a total ass hole, I hope I never have to play with him again" But inevitably I forget about it and end up joining another lobby with the same person the next day.

Would it be possible to add a Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down vote next to every users name, so that it's easier to keep track of who is cancer? It could show my own vote for the individual, and it could also show a cancer % that is globally view able on the lobby page so players can have a better idea who who they are playing with. There are certain players that just don't adjust to what a team needs and it would be nice to have a tool that will help me avoid them.

Pretty Please? With a Cherry on top?

Some people just can't get helped in case of character, which can be pretty annoying. It would be nice to have an ignore list so you can skip lobbies in which you wouldn't have fun with those special persons.

It would be great if I can add some player to "troll" group and his name for me will be in different color. It will be great for lobbyleaders. After some game you can mark such players and next time, when you meet him - you will be warned even he will change his name. (steamID?)

sorry for my bad English

If someone doesn't play by the rules, feel free to report him on our forums.

Letting users tag other users will be really easy to abuse.

It doesn't appear that he is asking to tag players for everyone to see, but only for his own reference.

I agree that this would be a great thing, either that or being able to add people to a perma ban from any lobbies one creates, the way it is not I have to continuously reference an ever gorwing list of players to make sure I ban them from my lobbies because they are trolls, have a poor attidute (as in use the phrase "it's just a lobby" a lot), or are assholes in general.  Having a way to easily spot these people would be nice.

It would be nice to have some kind of player blacklist system that would warn you if blacklisted players joined your team on the lobby page, and would prevent them from joining lobbies you hosted. It would make it a lot easier to avoid playing with trolls/assholes who keep using the excuse "it's just a lobby..." while wasting everybody's time.

It could maybe be a button on players' names on the lobby page that would say "add to blacklist", which would make them unable to join lobbies you created and would make the website give you a heads-up if they joined your team so you can avoid them.

Uh... was my post moved or something? I'm sorry I didn't realize the idea had already been posted (despite me searching for it). But I definitely wanted to create my own thread. Did somebody change my thread into a comment on thisone?

This is a very old suggestion and now I'm not so sure about the positive effect of this idea. Probably everyone here has its own list of personally annoying players, but looking on a typical examples of behavior accepted in the community, I comes to a conclusion that this feature will rather lead to a longer lobby filling time and provoke a loads of personal dramas and debates in a chat. Lobby leader has a powerful tools to remove a certain players. Just use them wise.

So this is Under Review rather than approved? I don't think theres any way of stopping a certain player you dont want to take the last slot after afks are removed from ready up but id like one
