When playing a lobby you have to play most of the time as the class of the slot you selected

Have a look at voidtrinity, a good hl sniper joining a 6s lobby to play sniper. and JUST to play sniper.

Why is he allowed to do that ? He has been playing sniper for the whole game and ruinind the game for my team because he kept picking everyone. He was literally carrying them through the whole game.
Pros/Cons:
A lobby is not really that helpful when it comes to getting better at the game when players that are really good with a certain class can play said class for the whole game just to stomp other players.

We have a configuration option when creating the Lobby in case of 6v6 called "Allow offclassing", which was the case in the Lobby that you mentioned. Next time you should look for Lobbies that don't have this enabled; on the Lobby page, here's what you look for:
