Idea/Suggestion Type:
Mumble
Description:
Mumble is great and all but what about other voip options? Discord offers everything Mumble does but its free and more simplistic with even browser based chat. Discord maintains the minimal CPU usage and high security on IP's that mumble does (assuming mumble does this).
I know there are lobbies that don't require voice communication through Mumble but it would be nice if those at the Tf2 Center team would consider using discord over mumble.
Pros/Cons:
Pro:
Discord has these advantages over Mumble.
Discord: Simplistic servers and setup giving with greater ability to customize custom servers for competitive chat. Discord is completely free and maintains everything Mumble does with added benefits.

Cons: If TF2 Center is sponsored by mumble this may be an issue, making a standard server plugin for discord isn't necessary but may be done to achieve specific settings during matches. The transition between the 2 main chats would bring some negative feedback from people who spend money on mumble servers.

I don't see anything fundamentally wrong with Mumble at this point. CPU usage is a non-issue and there is no issue with security. I like the idea of being non-dependent on a specific tool/vendor, but having one half of the team in Mumble and the other in Discord is just not going to work.

So just changing things because we can is just not enough in this case ;-)
